Tape & Glue

You see this broken man
life shattered me beyond
repair. Destiny kicked me.
Fate kept me down. Had my
heart broken a day after my
two year warranty ran out.

Everyone did the best they
could. Yet on certain days I
hurt so much I can barely sit.
Now I survive on a wing and
prayer because all my jigsaw
pieces no longer seem to fit.

I remember how it feels to
be in pieces. I realize that
I will never be brand new.
If you want me I could be
yours to love. If you don’t
mind all the tape and glue.

  1. Beautiful… I guess we all needed some tape and glue over time, but for some of us one day there was this person who managed to heal it all and let it grow together again. Brand new? Nope, that of course not, but doesn’t matter. Sometimes new is not what you really need in your life πŸ˜‰

    • No we don’t always need to be new. Broken but healed is just fine for me. And like you say, sometimes that right person comes along and they heal everything. Thanks for stopping by to read and comment. Appreciate that. Have a great day.

  2. Love it. And you can totally by some fancy decorated tape at the craft store and it will only enhance the beauty of your brokenness. We can have a fancy tape and glitter glue party. I’ve got some patching to do as well. πŸ˜‰

  4. I suppose this would be Your Ode to All the Battered and the Broken. Again, Well written. Worthy of the Sentiments. Kudos.

I have been down that lane too. To the point of being in the dust. And, circumstantially speaking, I am there even Yet.

But I have learnt to be Happy! Those who are interested, might like to read: http://wp.me/p4e7b5-1bS
